HERE WE ARE!!! today is the day we went to the probate court and "officially" re-adopted Micaiah! She was "officially" adopted in Guatemala and became a US citizen when we brought her home because we had both visited her in Guatemala. However, the paperwork is easier (and now all in english) when we re-adopt her here! We also offically changed her name! She is now Micaiah Jane Floricelda Sutton! What a blessing she is to our entire family. We are so grateful that God has blessed us witht he privaledge to be her parents! What an honor. The best part of the day was to be able to adopt her as a family, with the big brothers there too!
Here is our wonderful judge who was so kind and patient, as you parents know, three kids in a court room isn't the best place for kids to hang out, even if it was only for 5 minutes!! This is the exact moment it became official. April 11, 2007 at 10:33 and 03 seconds :o) He had us focus our camera then told us when to snap the camera. :o) and we even got an official adoption decree in ENGLISH!!! I will scan it in later, let me rephrase, Peter will teach me to scan it in later. :o)
NO MORE PAPER WORK!!!!!! WE ARE DONE!
(well, of course, not really, there is two more post placement reports and a request to recieve original documents from Guatemala we have not ever seen before! we have to wait a year for those docs, but no more official business, ok that's not true either we still have to reapply for her ss card with her name change on it and wait for her birth certificate for another 3-4 months. these are just the things I am thinking of at the moment and know about. but all well worth it:o) so I guess that no more paper work thing really isn't true after all. oh well
