we went to the zoo this morning and had a great time with the kids, Peter had the morning off. Henry and Allie came with us. (2 kids I babysit) Our house has become quite the hangout with all this beautiful weather, although it is raining this afternoon. Caleb and Elijah have friends coming over to play all the time. It is so nice to have friends so close in the neighborhood and close in age to our kiddos. We feel so blessed.
and at the same time so discouraged. I never imagined this adoption journey would look like this. I had heard the stories but ignorantly thought it would never happen to us. Now, here we are, 7+ months in and wondering every moment of every day when Micaiah will come to live with us forever. I am involved in a listserv of others who have or are adopting from Guat. and I get some info and updates there about others in this situation. The other cases are all over the board, some had their birthmom interviews 2+ months ago! Dear God, I hope this is not us! I did find out this afternoon that one woman I have been corresponding with and haven't heard from in a few weeks is now home with her baby. She had her interview about 1 month ago. I would be thrilled if our case moves that fast. Now I'm not sure when to hope she will be home by? I was hoping Mother's Day (our church is having a child dedication that day, we had hoped she would be a part of it) Now we are just praying it happens soon! Peter goes to Mexico with the students on a mission trip June 19, I am hoping I won't have to travel without him.
