we were missing the ER, after just 5 weeks!

What a day! The boys were playing so nicely together when they decided to go down in the basement. I went to grab a few things and was headed down after them...in the mean time... Elijah starts crying and Caleb says, SORRY, SORRY, SORRY ELIJAH, SORRY. Now this isn't the first time I have heard this sequence of cries followed by a long apology. Never the less I thought I ought to go down and rescue Elijah from his big bad brother. Except when I went to open the door to the basement, Caleb had locked it. I yelled for him to open it and boy did I have some rescuing to do. I found Elijah at the toy box with a pair of scissors and blood all over his hands, tears running faster than ever. Caleb said Elijah was playing with the scissors and he took them away from him, later he confessed he was trying to cut Elijah's nails! what??? WHO CUTS NAILS WITH A SCISSORS! Elijah lost his finger pad on his ring finger of his left hand, about the size of a shirt button! Off to the ER we went, holding Elijah's hand to put pressure on the cut and stop the bleeding. When we were in the car Caleb said, mommy could you ask God to put Elijah's finger back on. I said Caleb, that is a great idea and we prayed over Elijah's finger. An hour and a half later it was still bleeding and the doctors medicated it so they could put on a dressing and back home we went. What a day, what a day!

I'm sure Elijah will repay the favor some day, just hopefully not next month, I need a break from the ER!














Elijah is feeling a bit better, he still does a little dance with "DOODY" (Woody) and poses for the picture! What a champ.
