an attempt to recap...

Well, here we go... sorry to leave some of you hanging, it has been a rough few weeks. I will attempt to fill you in on the updates of the adoption of our beautiful little girl.

TUESDAY,1/3 We are patiently waiting for a turn in our case. The birthmother is still missing and they have hired an investigator to find her.

WEDNESDAY,1/4 The investigator finds the birthmother and her family, however they are reluctant to move forward, do the DNA test and interview. They do not believe she wants Micaiah, just reluctant to move forward, no other explination given to us? Our Guatemalan attorney plans to go to the remote area of Coban on 1/6 where they were found and explain the situation...

If the birthmother does not comply with the DNA test and interview, Micaiah will be removed from the foster home she has been in since she was 6 days old and put into an orphanage where her case will move from an abandonment case to a relinquishment case. At this point the adoption process will take a minimum of one year and we will not be able to keep Micaiah. The attorney also explained that there is an adoptive family who loves Micaiah and is eager to bring her home.

TUESDAY, 1/10 It rained on Friday the 6th, because of the mud roads our attorney was unable to get to Coban, she will try again on the 13th.

TUESDAY, 1/17 Our attorney is in the hospital, so we have little details. She did go see the family and they have agreed to come to Guatemala City for the DNA and interview on 1/21, the appointments are schedules for 1/23

FRIDAY, 1/20 The driver was unable to get to Coban because the roads are so bad, they need and all terrain vehicle to get there. They say maybe Tuesday they will be able to find a driver to get there, all appointments need to be rescheduled.

Well...today is Tuesday, we have no news yet. We are tired and worn. As you can see, this chain of events has been difficult to journal, to say the least. We don't know much more at this point. We will try to be more diligent in keeping updates.

We appreciate your prayers and support.

We know God's timing is perfect. It's difficult to live with that sometimes. I am praying for you daily.
