micaiah's second brithday party

grandma millie came to play for the day while we got ready for the party! the kids and grandma all had a great time!

the birthday girl

the birthday princess, thanks AMY, if she was questioning her royalty it has now been confirmed!

the progression of the pinata!

caleb and elijah helped assemble, paper mache, and paint (for 3 days)

micaiah knew when it was time to step in and enjoy!

we had a family party on saturday and invited the neighbor kids over for the pinata and cake, everyone had a great time!

funny...funny...funny

Caleb

daddy is watching football with the kids, the BEARS of course! and a commercial comes on with a woman running on a treadmill, she falls off. the commercial comes on later in the game and caleb says, that's funny she fell off that thing last time daddy, why can't she stay on there?

Elijah

micaiah got some around the world dora dolls for her birthday from uncle chris and emily. we were playing with them and we had the globe out and i was telling elijah where the dolls were from. he kept asking as he was trying to remember which doll went with which country, how to say the country, and where it was on the map. the dolls are officially named, russia, china, and france. so later elijah starts playing with a doll and i said, do you remember where you got that doll from. he said yeah, amy. wow, i was impressed, then i thought well also a clever response he knows three amy's very well. so i said which amy. amy rudge he said. nope. amy in china and with that i couldn't stop laughing, my sister is referred to amy in australia. he never did get it right the doll is from amy-brandon, megan, and timothy's mommy.

Micaiah

we are working on teaching micaiah spanish words, and i am always asking our neighbor girl arely, who is 9, how to say things in spanish. so micaiah wanted to be pushed on the swing and she says pu pee = push please. i asked her to say empuja me (sp?) she says, bla bla bla (3 syllables :o)

update!!

we are in...

yeah we are in our new home! we have been frantically unpacking and having sooo much fun meeting the new neighbors and getting plugged in at church and in the community.

here's the amazing timeline:
6/3 resigned from Horizon
6/17 potential buyer for house
7/1 official offer on house
7/8 job offer and acceptance at Christ Community Church
7/16 began packing our house
8/1 closed on our house and moved in with Peter's mom
8/11 moved out of Peter's mom's home (Peter found major wood rot/mold/mildew in her kitchen while cleaning her dryer duct) and moved into Peter's brother's house
8/11 Peter left for middle school camp
8/14 I began a 3 week graduate level online course to keep up my teaching certification

8/30 we closed on our home in Elgin IL
9/1 we spent our first night in our new home, still no stuff (we decided to leave it in storage over Labor Day weekend, thinking it would be difficult to find help moving in)
9/4 completed graduate course (95%, I have to brag, after the massive stress I went through to get through the course I was ecstatic with my grade!)
9/7 moved stuff from storage to our new home

so maybe this will help to clarify why i have not written letters, called friends, blogged, or finished unpacking my house yet!

we will get there some day, until then we have really been enjoying our home, our neighbors, new friends, and our church!

living at Chris and Emily's

Emily playing with Elijah and Micaiah, she was always helping me out so I could get some work done on my class

Chris and Emily had just moved into their home in July! They so graciously welcomed us in in the midst of moving in themselves!

Chris drove the kids on the "tractor" just like papa used to do

so what did we do for a week without our "stuff"

the kids built a fort

Bailey loved it!

they even helped me do laundry!!

Caleb's first day of school (it was orientation)

Caleb's first real day of school

life in our new home

Caleb's new soccer team, THE STINGERS!!

the previous owners had a inflatible pool here, time to plant some grass seed

Micaiah is adjusting to her new room and her new bed (a big girl bed). I put her down and she cried a few minutes later she stopped I went in to check on her and she had fallen asleep with her best friend, DORA! isn't that adorable :o)

one year ago TODAY!!!!

happy adoption day Micaiah!!

I can hardly believe it was one year ago today that our children met for the first time! We came up the escaltor at the Cincinnati Airport and a the top was Gramma Tina, Caleb, and Elijah with their cute Welcome Home Micaiah shirts. It was a beautiful time of welcoming Micaiah to America and to the Sutton family.

What a blessing she has been to our entire family. We are forever grateful for the opportunity to raise Micaiah! She is a lover and a fighter, she keeps us all smiling, and has a hug and a kiss whenever you would like one.

Micaiah, thank you so much for giving us the privaledge of being your parents. We are eternally grateful to have you in our lives. You have taught us so much about how faithful God is. Thank you for your smiles, your words, your excitement, and passion for life and relationships! Thank you for calling me mommy! I am honored to have you as my daughter.

What an awesome day of celebration!! YEAH GOD!!
