It was a very enjoyable weekend and so good to be together. (these are just a few of the pics, I was not the photographer that weekend so I didn't get very many, maybe somebody will share HINT HINT! :o)

Elijah's Birthday party!

The Lightening McQueen cake!

We had races, here's Elijah wearing his metal.

THE RACES!

these are hilarious!

I had to post them all!

Elijah had a CARS birthday, we made tshirts with CARS license plates on them for his friends, rather than a goodie bag! they were a huge hit and they only cost us about $4.50 each! not bad, huh?

Elijah, golf, papa and grampa

The other day while watching the kids, I noticed Elijah struggling with his golf bag. He was dragging it out to Micaiah's little tricycle. After reaching the trike, he picked up the bag and placed it behind the seat as if it were a golf cart. I walked over and asked him what he was doing. He said, "I'm golfin' dad... can you help me put this on the cart?"
I giggled, bent down and strapped the clubs to the back.
Then Elijah got on the bike, rode a few yards, got off the bike, picked a club and hit the ball. Then, as if he'd done it a million times, he put his club away, got back in the cart and followed that little white ball. Now I'm not certain but I don't think that he's ever seen that done before. He certainly hasn't seen it on TV since carts are not allowed in the PGA. As Jocelyn and I discussed it later than night, she reminded me that Elijah always talks about Grampa and Papa golfing in heaven with Jesus. She wondered if Papa or Grampa invited Elijah to be the fourth on that beautiful spring day. It made me smile to see so much of his grampas in him.

a trip to the zoo

Going to the zoo has not been an easy task. Although we are trying to make it there again. This trip was particularly difficult, being so closed to when my dad had his heart attack last year. We enjoyed our visit and when I went to finally get a membership they gave it to us for free! what a blessing. The man at the counter remember last years events, he was so sympathetic as I tried to calmly get a refund from that days events and purchase a new membership.
So here we are! Our friend down the street joined us for the day! Ethan and Caleb are great buddies, as well as Owen and Elijah have become quite fond of each other. Ava is also adopted from Guatemala, she just came home a few months ago and is 8 months old.

Two years ago the Sumatrin rhino had heard first baby in captivity. The boys remeber it and we always go to check and see how Suci is doing. Now Emi is a mommy again to her second rhino. The boys were so excited to see her new baby.

Family Adventures

WE took an adventure to a park about a mile and a half from home. Caleb rode his bike and did AWESOME! Elijah and Micaiah rode in the bike trailer behind Peter. We packed a picnic, played at the park, and went hiking down by the creek near the park! we had a blast!

great pics I found...

these are two of the MOST AMAZING PEOPLE I KNOW! when I was looking for the pics for the previous blog I came across these and wanted to share.

My grandpa and grandma are two people whom I admire and respect sooo much. They have so much love and patience. I pray that one day, my faith, my marriage, and my life would look like theirs.

(my grandpa is a huge Packers fan, and the boys were being polite and joining in on his football game, because, of course, they don't actually like the Packers. Grandpa made sure Caleb didn't get in his way of seeing Brett Farve!)

the stuff that brings tears to my eyes

tonight as we were driving in the car, we saw jet streams in the sky. Caleb and his friend Ethan were discussing rockets, comets, shooting stars, and well, yes the disappointment of a mere jet! The shooting star conversation brought them to wishes.

Caleb said, "I just have two wishes. that Ethan would live at my house and that God would live at my house and that Papa and Grandpa would come back to life"

WOW!

(yes that was three wishes, but whose counting)

look back!

I finally found the missing Easter pics! check 'em out! april 8
and our adventures to the Red's Opening Day Parade! april 2

this is the cutest little prince I have ever seen!

Caleb went to a good friend's "prince/princess" party, although he was the only boy dressed as a prince and the only "boy" friend (the others were brothers and cousins). Caleb and Julia met in a playgroup when they were 3 months old! Julia is in Caleb's Sunday school class too! they adore each other and love to make mischief together too!

Caleb and Julia in the "carriage"

Isn't he handsome!

When Julia opened her present from Caleb, he got to sit next to her.

Mary is another of Caleb's good friends, he has known since birth. Mary and Julia are cousins.

Caleb and the princesses.

yeah Elijah!!!

I am excited to announce that Elijah is "officially" potty training and making great progress!!!!!!!

We have decided to put a little incentive in place for this very determined little boy who was previously not interested in learning to go in the potty. Each time he goes in the potty he gets a yogurt raisen and a quarter. He is saving up his quarters to by CHICK, the green car from the movie. CHICK is a rare car and costs $7.50 on ebay. So we made a chart with circles on it to show him how many quarters he needed and everytime he goes he colors is a circle and puts a quarter in his CHICK $ box.

Day 1, 9 quarters and 3 accidents
Day 2, 3 quarters and 3 accidents

YEAH ELIJAH!! I am so excited I want to train Micaiah too :o)

this is cute!

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark

One: Don't miss the boat.
Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three: Plan in advance: It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four : Stay fit When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six: Build your future on high ground.
Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. Nine: When you're stressed, float a while.
Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting...

HAPPY RE-ADOPTION DAY!!!

Just 2 years ago, March 31, 2005 we signed our first piece of paper to move forward with beginning the process of adopting Micaiah! Now today, another milestone in our journey!

HERE WE ARE!!! today is the day we went to the probate court and "officially" re-adopted Micaiah! She was "officially" adopted in Guatemala and became a US citizen when we brought her home because we had both visited her in Guatemala. However, the paperwork is easier (and now all in english) when we re-adopt her here! We also offically changed her name! She is now Micaiah Jane Floricelda Sutton! What a blessing she is to our entire family. We are so grateful that God has blessed us witht he privaledge to be her parents! What an honor. The best part of the day was to be able to adopt her as a family, with the big brothers there too!

Here is our wonderful judge who was so kind and patient, as you parents know, three kids in a court room isn't the best place for kids to hang out, even if it was only for 5 minutes!! This is the exact moment it became official. April 11, 2007 at 10:33 and 03 seconds :o) He had us focus our camera then told us when to snap the camera. :o) and we even got an official adoption decree in ENGLISH!!! I will scan it in later, let me rephrase, Peter will teach me to scan it in later. :o)

NO MORE PAPER WORK!!!!!! WE ARE DONE!

(well, of course, not really, there is two more post placement reports and a request to recieve original documents from Guatemala we have not ever seen before! we have to wait a year for those docs, but no more official business, ok that's not true either we still have to reapply for her ss card with her name change on it and wait for her birth certificate for another 3-4 months. these are just the things I am thinking of at the moment and know about. but all well worth it:o) so I guess that no more paper work thing really isn't true after all. oh well

movie night with friends
