More than we could ever ask for...

WOW!!

We feel so very blessed! We can not begin to describe how grateful we are for the gift God has given us in Micaiah. We had an absolutely amazing four days. We lived every possible moment to the fullest and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Guatemala. I (Jocelyn) think I learned a bit about living life to fullest each day. It was the most wonderful experience to hold Micaiah, love on her, and be her mommy and daddy, even for a short time. After four days, it’s official, she is daddy’s girl. She looks at him, like no other. She will definitely be the princess of our home and his heart!

On Wednesday, we did our usual wake up routine. Micaiah wakes up like no other, peaceful and happy. You can barely tell she’s awake, she just starts to kick and breath a little louder. We both join her in her bed and lay and enjoy about an hour of giggling with Micaiah. Then we headed off to breakfast for our continental buffet. We came back to the room and I decided to get some exercise, however after getting all ready to go, I picked up Micaiah and decided I would much rather hold her than go run. I can run any day, and our time here is limited. Peter went with some friends we met here (from Cincinnati) to go get lunch and Micaiah and I stayed back at the hotel. She fell asleep in my arms out by the pool while I read up on Guatemala. When she woke up we put on her swimsuit and headed back to the pool to play. No swimming, the pool was too cold. We enjoyed more Guatemalan cuisine poolside with our friends. Carol, a mom of 3 (2 bio, 1 adopted), and her father Charlie were in Guatemala to pick up there 5 month old little boy, Xavier. During Micaiah’s nap, Carol and I went to go check out some of the markets. More playing with Micaiah and then Charlie treated us to dinner. The night ended well. More playing with Micaiah, lots of love, cuddles, and enjoying our princess.

Thursday we awoke to our normal routine, ate our breakfast and headed upstairs for our final moments with Micaiah. Juliet, Micaiah’s foster mom brought two of her sons with to pick her up. What a wonderful family. Saying good-bye was not easy, but we were so grateful to give Micaiah to such a warm and loving family. She lit up when she saw Juliet and her foster brothers, it was so good to see. We hugged and cried and hugged some more. We are so thankful that God has had His hand on this entire process. He has given us so much peace about Micaiah being in Guatemala for this time. We know that she will come home at the most perfect time, we are praying that it is very soon.

Recap of adoption process: At this point we are about 1 week into waiting for preapproval, estimated time is 2-3 weeks. Then PGN, estimated time 4 weeks (I am praying for 2 weeks or less :o), then final documents, estimated time 2-3 weeks.
So if all goes smoothly, we have a minimum of 5 weeks, probably closer to 9 weeks time before we can go get her and bring her home.
