we got a phone call today saying that Heidy's interview in scheduled for Friday! But....yep, there is always a but. It is very common for birthmothers to not actually be interviewed at their first appointment. Apparently a psychologist comes in on Fridays to do the interviews and when his day is over he leaves, even if there are birthmothers still waiting to be interviewed that he has not gotten to. Then they go home, the interview is rescheduled and they come back again. We are praying that Heidy is able to get there Friday and is interviewed on Friday as well.
I also learned that once she is interviewed there will be a write up in a fairly short amount of time and then our case goes back to our PGN reviewer. The reviewer has probably already looked over our case, at the very least, enough to notice that the birthmother was a minor. The reviewer could have already kicked us out of PGN for a previo (this is an error in our documents somewhere, i.e. dates not recent enough, notary expired, etc.). We are grateful we were not kicked out already, although there is still an opportunity for us to be kicked out when our case gets back to the reviewer. Once the reviewer gets our case back it doesn't "usually" take too much longer to sign off on the case, however then our case goes to the director of PGN. This is yet another step that needs lots of prayer. It is my understanding that this director needs only to sign our documents, and then we are out. Sounds simple. Nope! The director has let documents sit on his desk for 6 weeks +. Pray that our case does not sit!!!!
praying for a speedy miracle to bring our daughter home!
